current scandals
Hello. Unless you've been living under the largest of rocks, you know that the past few weeks have been some of the busiest in terms of pop culture drama bullshit. In my last post, I expressed my worry that I wouldn't have any inspiration in terms of what to write about on here since this year's awards season is over. Well, apparently some type of god heard my worries and decided they would provide ten-fold. Let me start off by saying that I was not planning on making a post about this. I feel like just about every news article, Instagram post, Facebook Watch show, Snapchat story, etc. has been made about these topics...what can I contribute to an already overflowing pot? But, my little sister/angel/best best best friend asked me to share my opinion, so I have to provide.
Just to quickly summarize, the world damn near came crashing down when it was revealed that none other than Tristan "Third Trimester" Thompson cheated on Khloe (ahem, again) with Kylie's best friend, Jordyn. Seemingly every woke celebrity in the the entertainment world caped for Jussie Smollett when news broke that he was the victim of a racial/homophobic hate crime, only for us to find out that it was all a poorly orchestrated scam headed by Smollett himself. Rich white people are *shockingly* bribing everyone and their mother so their children can go to prestigious (party) schools. Pop culture as we know it is honestly a clusterfuck.
Surprising to exactly zero people, I have some thoughts on these scandals. Lots of thoughts. So lets jump right in.
JORDYN WOODS
Alright, so, I am unapologetically a Kardashian fan. While I haven't watched a full season in a couple years, I actively follow them on social media, I am enamored by their constant drama, etc. So when this Jordyn/Tristan drama hit, I was immediately interested. From the jump, though, I smelled something...fishy. My original hypothesis was that this was all a ploy to garner interest in the 16th season of "Kardashians" (which premiered last night). However, after watching Jordyn's interview on "Red Table Talk", I have decided that this is real. I find myself being pulled in two different directions because, while I believe that something did happen between Tristan and Jordyn, I don't necessarily give a shit.
Some important facts: Tristan has cheated on Khloè before. The public has been involved in one other time, literally hours before Khloè went into labor, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume that this is somewhat habitual for Mr. Thompson. When Khloè and Tristan got together, he was having a baby with another woman, who was also in her third trimester. Due to overwhelming evidence, I've decided that Tristan is not a particularly stand-up guy.
Let me make my position incredibly clear: I do not care that Tristan cheated on Khloè. I do not feel particularly bad for Khloè. I am not here for the public slander of a 21 year old woman. Just so there's no question where I stand on this issue.
Khloè has made a career out of hand-picking the slimiest of men. She chose to forgive Tristan after his original infidelity, which is 100% her prerogative. HOWEVER. The fact that she now wants to turn around and blame the splitting up of her family on Jordyn??!?!? BITCH?!?!?? You knew who this man was before you had a kid with him. You knew who he was because he's shown you!! Multiple times!!!! Get off your unearned high horse and admit that you chose the wrong man!!!! We all know what the Kardashians were doing when they were 21, and I'm gonna go ahead and assume that almost none of it was G-Rated. It, of course, is never okay to homewreck or be involved in cheating--this is something I know first-hand. But, Khloè. WHEN PEOPLE SHOW YOU THEIR TRUE COLORS...BELIEVE THEM. Tristan wasn't pretending to be the perfect guy. You knew!!!! You chose to permanently involve this mans in your life by creating a child with him. Why are you acting brand new???? I HAVE NO SYMPATHY. And then to throw all the blame on a young adult rather than owning your hilariously horrible taste in men? You're joking. Pulling up with Twitter fingers to air out your dirty laundry 100% publicly? Get a fucking grip. Secondhand embarrassment doesn't begin to cover it. She claims that her daughter, True, is the reason for all her actions. Do you think True wants to grow up and see that her mom was all up on social media calling out a 21 year old? Are you kidding?? GROW UP. This was not the ultimate betrayal on Jordyn's part. Presumably, she didn't make any promises to you, she is not the mother of your child--she is your little sister's best friend. She. Owes. You. Nothing. Tristan has made you promises. Tristan is half of your daughters DNA. GET OFF TWITTER. SEEK THERAPY FOR YOUR HEINOUS TASTE IN MEN. STOP BORROWING BLACK CULTURE AND THEN SLANDERING BLACK WOMEN EVERY CHANCE YOU GET!!!!
JUSSIE SMOLLETT
Let me start off by making it perfectly clear that I really have no fucking clue what I think of this whole thing. I'm gonna try and write it out and hopefully I eventually come to a conclusion? No promises.
Like everyone else, when news of this hit, I was absolutely horrified. The idea that a black, gay celebrity was the victim of a hate crime was almost unbelievable. And then, when news came out that Smollett was actually being investigated in ties to perpetrating this crime...I was beyond confused. My first instinct is never to trust the Chicago Police Department, so I was decidedly skeptical. More news came out, more evidence came to light, it started looking worse and worse for Jussie. I was actively wary of Mr. Smollett due to the literal check that he wrote the two guys who attacked him. It's incredibly sus that these two guys apparently knew Jussie and may have even worked on "Empire" with him???? For what reason would these people just choose to attack him in public. I doesn't make sense. And then, just when evidence was stacking up, Jussie was acquitted. All charges against him were dropped. What in the fuck??? I have no idea what this means. Even after typing it all out, I have no idea what this means. Jussie seems to be hiding something. What, exactly? I'm not sure. But it seems as though nothing is adding up and it's pissing me off. I need an unbiased source to swoop in and tell me how to feel, because I'm truly at a loss.
LORI LOUGHLIN/FELICITY HUFFMAN/RICH PEOPLE IN GENERAL
Rich people bribing institutions is a tale as old as time. What decidedly isn't old as time is literally photoshopping pictures and blatantly paying """""advisors""""" to get your children into school. What the literal fuck were Aunt Becky and Lynette Scavo thinking???
I am, admittedly, a fan of Olivia Jade. I watch her YouTube videos all the time, I follow her and her sister on Instagram, etc., so you might assume that I'm caping for these bitches. Hell fucking no. I am so sick of everyone saying that the children in these scenarios are blameless, as if they are three-year-olds whose parents are scamming to get them into kindergarten. I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that when your parents are forcing you to pose for a fake rowing photoshoot, you can use deductive reasoning and realize that something scammy is happening. The children are not blameless. While they are young and still learning, they are not innocent victims in all of this and it's absolutely insane that people are even producing rhetoric that says differently.
Might I also point out how truly embarrassing it must be to be so dumb that, despite leading the most privileged of lives, access to the most informative of education, the most helpful of tutors, YOUR ASS STILL CAN'T GET INTO COLLEGE?!??! YOUR PARENTS HAD TO FALSIFY PHOTOS OF YOU PRETENDING TO BE ON THE C R E W TEAM SO THAT YOU COULD GAIN ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION????? CAN'T RELATE. If I were any of these children I would be absolutely astonished at my own stupidity.
The other side of this, and there are many sides, is the fact that these self-righteous white ladies think that for some reason, their untalented, uninformed, and seemingly uneducated children deserve to steal a spot from deserving, yet underprivileged students. As I'm writing this, there are black women sitting in jail for lying about their zip code in an attempt to get their children into a better school district. Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman will more than likely walk free. No matter who you are, this should outrage you. The true victims of this situation are not the universities (no matter how hard they're trying to force-feed us that narrative), it's not these spoiled children...it's the kids who didn't get the opportunity to attend these institutions because some out-of-touch, arrogant, celebrity offspring decided they wanted to drink well vodka and pine after Chad in Lambda Alpha SuckMyDick. I am fucking pissed. And you should be, too.

I'm sorry it's been almost a month since I uploaded, but I'm looking forward to getting back on my regular schedule.
